Story
Nearly 1 million people in the UK are living with dementia today, and about 60% of them are suffering from Alzheimer's Disease (AD). AD is a neurological disorder that will lead the brain to atrophy and become smaller. It will break down memory, cognitive ability, and will limit the capacity to do, well, everything.
AD is the biggest killer in the UK, and with no current cure, all efforts to make progress toward one are incredibly valuable. BRACE Alzheimer's Research fund world-class clinical and laboratory research into Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia to find better treatments, achieve earlier diagnosis, and one day determine a cure. Real progress' been made in the past 30 years, and we could be on the brink of a breakthrough in our understanding of causes and treatment.
My Dad, Ian Moody, was diagnosed with early-onset AD at age 58 and lived with it before passing in November 2022 at age 62.
In Ian's honour, in support of my family, and for all of the people suffering, I'll be running the 2025 London Marathon to raise money and awareness for BRACE. Any and all support is very very much appreciated!
