Story
Nearly 1 million people in the UK are living with dementia today, and about 60% of them are suffering from Alzheimer's Disease (AD).
AD is a neurological disorder that leads the brain to atrophy and become smaller. It gradually breaks down memory, cognitive ability, and limits one's capacity to live a full, independent, and balanced life.
AD is the biggest killer in the UK, and with no current cure, all efforts to make progress toward one are incredibly valuable. Alzheimer's Research UK is a leading dementia research charity, and are transforming the way we treat, diagnose and prevent dementia; they are focussed on accelerating progress toward a cure.
My Dad, Ian Moody, was diagnosed with early-onset AD at age 58 and lived with it before passing in November 2022 at age 62.
In Ian's honour, in support of my family, and for all of the people suffering, I'll be running the 2026 London Marathon to raise money and awareness for Alzheimer's Research UK. Any and all support is very very much appreciated! Thank you!
