Story
3 Peaks 2 Sisters 1 Mission
When your sister has a cancer diagnosis it brings life into sharp focus!
Wendy has shown enormous courage and determination at every step over the past 8 months to do everything possible to maximise her chances of a positive outcome. She has also been surrounded by the love and support of family and friends.
We recognise that many are not as fortunate as Wendy and need more community support to help them through their treatment journey. Our mission is to raise funds for Big C Cancer Charity which plays such an important role in providing vital practical and emotional support to those affected by Cancer.
Our challenge involves climbing the three highest peaks of Scotland, England & Wales, in around 24 hours! The total walking distance is 23 miles and the total ascent is 3064 metres.
If you can spare a few pounds to acknowledge our efforts this will help Big C:
- provide face-to-face and online support for individuals and their families (nurse guidance, talking therapy, welfare advice, and a host of tailored support programmes)
- fund ground-breaking research,
- educate people about cancer for the future
1 in 2 of us will have a cancer diagnosis in our lifetime. Please take the screening opportunities you have and be alert to the signs and symptoms. Early detection can make a huge difference in the outcome.
Thanks from Joanne Dewar and Joanna Leah (the ones desperately looking for practice hills in Essex and Suffolk)
