Team: The Tory Wren Fundraiser for Peninsula Medical Foundation

In memory of Tory Wren

100 Hole Golf Challenge · 23 September 2026

We are fundraising for the University of Plymouth's Peninsula Schools of Medicine and Dentistry. Just one medical discovery can touch millions of lives. We award funding to vital research equipment and support the healthcare professionals of tomorrow.

Story

Tory Wren, was a 3rd year medical student at the Peninsula Medical School, Plymouth who died suddenly in October 2022, age 20. Tory had a bubbly and enthusiastic personality along with a very caring nature. With her contagious smile and laugh she was able to brighten any room, even more so as she would bring such colour into the room with her red hair and funky outfits

From an early age Tory knew she wanted to do medicine, and she was thrilled to get a place to study Medicine at the University of Plymouth. Tory was in her third year, enjoying her clinical placements, when she died. She had both the compassion and ability to be an excellent doctor, and in her memory, we are raising funds for the peninsula medical foundation (PMF). As well as Tory’s dream of becoming a doctor she was very keen to get involved in research, particularly after some experience in a biomedical research laboratory and a care home.

Hence, it is a fitting tribute to Tory to raise funds for medical research at the place where she was living her dream. The mission of the PMF is to support life-changing medical research and health education. This fund is supporting vital projects in brain tumour research.
