I have had the joy of being part of Home-Start North and West Gloucestershire since the scheme started, first as a Founding Trustee and since November 2020 I have been a member of staff, delivering antenatal, post-natal and mental health peer support groups.

Our aim is to provide early support to families who are facing the challenges and stresses of family life, including a wide range of difficulties such as isolation, low self-esteem, and physical and mental health issues.

We work alongside parents to help raise their self-confidence and their ability to cope in an increasingly pressured society.

We want to see a society in which every parent has the support they need to give their children the best possible start in life. We believe that every parent plays a key role in ensuring that children have a happy and secure childhood.

We rely on funding and donations through fundraising to provide these vital services. Please encourage me to complete my challenge of swimming the equivalent of the English Channel during the first 5 months of 2025 to celebrate 5 years of our amazing Home-Start scheme in any way you can.
