When stroke strikes, part of your brain shuts down. And so does a part of you. Life changes instantly and recovery is tough. But the brain can adapt. Our specialist support, research and campaigning are only possible with the courage and determination of the stroke community.

Story

We are doing this walk to raise money for the Stroke Association. One of us – Jo – had a stroke three years ago. She didn’t know whether she would be well enough to do anything like this again after her stroke. She was off work for nearly a year, but, with the support of the Stroke Association, has made a fantastic recovery. The Stroke Association help line and their on-line forum gave Jo the encouragement and support she needed when things felt really hard for her. Their advice and guidance helped her in many practical ways when she was in recovery. She now wants to give something back, and as her friends, we wanted to support her in doing that. We hope that you feel able to offer us your support by sponsoring us as we complete this walk. Thank you!
