For a second time I am being joined by wonderful friends on the moonlight walk to raise money for the fabulous St Leonard’s hospice. Most people who know me know how grateful my family was for the care my late husband Alan received at the hospice and I will always do what I can to help ensure the care is there for others who need it.

St Leonard’s Hospice provides care and support for people with life limiting illnesses and their families when they need it most, and we’ve been doing it for 39 years. Our patients’ needs are our priority, and our care is designed to make the best of their lives. We provide care at our Hospice, in patients’ homes, and in our community.

We provide care for free, but it’s not free to provide. It costs £7.9 million a year, and just a quarter of that comes from the government. We rely on the generosity of our community for the rest. Your donation means we can be here to help more people in York and surrounding areas when they need us most.
