Story
I am taking part in the 25-Mile Challenge Walk to raise money for Kidney Cancer UK. This charity is the only one in the UK dedicated solely to supporting kidney cancer patients, their families, and carers, while funding vital research and raising awareness of this often-overlooked disease.
Kidney cancer is frequently diagnosed late because it can have no symptoms until it’s advanced. That’s why the work of Kidney Cancer UK is so important – providing counselling, information, and a voice for those affected.
💚 This challenge is a small gesture for a cause that means a great deal to me. A dear family friend is currently facing the trials and tribulations of metastasised cancer, which began in their kidneys. They’ve always been an incredible inspiration to me — even before this cancer journey — and I want to show, in my own way, how much I care. I also hope to raise awareness and understanding of kidney cancer, which often goes unnoticed until it’s too late.
💚 On a personal note, this year has thrown more than its fair share of curveballs my way. I’ve had a rough run of luck and I’m determined to turn things around — for myself and for my daughter. This challenge is more than just a walk; it’s a stepping stone toward better health, a clearer mind, and a much-needed boost to my mental wellbeing. It’s the motivation I’ve been searching for.
💚 Please support me if you can. Your donation will help Kidney Cancer UK continue their vital work and will mean the world to me and my friend. Plus, let’s be honest — it’ll give me the kick up the bum I need!
