As many of you know I have recently returned from 2 weeks in Nairobi, visiting the Murugi Community.

Murugi Community Trust was established in 2024 and aims to relieve poverty, advance education and improve health.

Many children in the Murugi area miss out on school as their families cannot afford to pay the fees. There is no free education there unlike here where everyone is entitled to a free education from 5 to 18.

I met families including the child I sponsor for £70 a year who were so appreciative that their children were being enabled to be educated. They also receive a much needed daily nutritional breakfast and lunch.

The children themselves worked hard and had high aspirations of what they wanted to do. They were not going to waste the opportunity that had been given to them.

This is a small charity that makes such a big difference to the lives of many vulnerable families. Every penny is used wisely.
