I run a small charity which does an amazing job supporting people in Sheffield to learn English. We train volunteers who support around 1500 people a year in our conversation groups and home based programme.

We are funded through a variety of grants from the public sector and trusts and foundations. Most of the funds we receive cover our core costs of staff and overheads. Any funds raised by my event will directly support our learners to be able to take part in an activity together with our volunteers. This could be a trip to a local park, the city art galleries and museums. For us this is about our vision of a Sheffield where everyone can participate, connect and flourish. But these things cost money. £7.20 will pay for a day's bus/tram pass.
