Story
Running the London Marathon is the ultimate dream of most runners and it’s most definitely mine and in 2026, I’m beyond proud to be doing it for Spinal Research, a charity with deep personal meaning and strong ties to the equestrian world.
I started my running journey back in 2022, but once I found my stride, I never looked back. Since then, I’ve taken on many races, and I’ll be building up to the big day by running the Great North Run Half Marathon too. But there will be no feeling quite like crossing the finish line of the London Marathon, knowing I’ve done it in support of such an incredible cause.
My fundraising target is £2,500—but I’d love to smash that and raise even more for this vital work.
As someone who has been part of the equestrian world for over 20 years—managing Iron Horse Equestrian Supplies and meeting countless inspiring riders along the way—I’ve seen first-hand how spinal injuries can profoundly affect lives. Spinal Research is making vital strides toward treatments and breakthroughs that offer real hope, and it means the world to run for a cause that resonates so deeply within our community.
Someone sustains a spinal cord injury every four hours in the UK. These injuries often bring a lifetime of health and care needs, along with the risk of serious secondary complications.
Spinal Research is the UK’s leading medical charity dedicated to the repair and restoration of the spinal cord. They exist for one reason: to beat paralysis. They receive no government funding—all of their life-changing research is funded by people like you and me.
With your help, we can #CureParalysis.
Thank you so much for your support—it truly means the world.
