This May I am taking part in the MK Rocket 5K and raising money for Age UK Milton Keynes.

Last year, I started volunteering with Age UK for an hour a week within their befriending service and I met the loveliest lady Jenny, who feels like family now. I am so grateful to Age UK for introducing us and have enjoyed spending so much time with such a great lady. Jenny turned 90 in November and is just the best.

The goal is to raise money for this charity and spread the word about their befriending service. If you have one hour a week you could spare, please do contact them to be matched with someone local. It will only add happiness to your life.

Age UK Milton Keynes is an independent local charity. We have been working to improve later life in the city of Milton Keynes for over 45 years. We have a dedicated workforce of around 200 paid workers (mostly part-time) and 350 volunteers who provide services and support to older people in Milton Keynes.

Age UK Milton Keynes works with and for older people to make a real and positive difference that contributes to their wellbeing and quality of life. On Tuesday 1st June 2010 we changed our name to Age UK Milton Keynes,
