The Rouses take on the Winter Spine for SSR

Jo Rouse is raising money for Scoliosis Support and Research

Montane Winter Spine Race and Sprint · 9 January 2027

Scoliosis Association UK and British Scoliosis Research Foundation merged in 2023 and are now known as Scoliosis Support and Research. We promote and fund research into scoliosis and other spinal conditions in the UK, whilst providing support and information to people affected by scoliosis.

Story

The Rouse's take on the Spine of the UK to raise money for Scoliosis Support and Research charity.💪

A bit about our chosen charity. Two years ago, our eldest daughter Sadie was diagnosed with Scoliosis, a condition causing curvature in the spine. When Sadie was 12, we noticed a slight difference in her shoulders, which developed to a severe curvature of over 60degrees, with her only option being surgery to try and correct this. In November 2024 Sadie underwent two rounds of surgery, and a hugely difficult few months of recovery, literally having to learn to walk again. She is now back to her full strength, an active member in our local junior running club, and still partaking in her weekly dance classes. Scoliosis will always be a part of her life, with regular check ups to check how it's progressing. We are raising money for Scoliosis Support and Research, to help families going through the same. In Jan 2027, Martin and Jo will both be running the Montane Winter Spine (Sprint for Jo) hoping to raise as much as they can for this wonderful charity.
