I've worked for The Recruitment Junction for the past 4 years. The Recruitment Junction supports people with prior convictions into employment. In my time here I have seen nearly 800 men and women placed into work in that time. It's incredible really - all from one base in Newcastle.

We are now expanding and setting up our second office in Durham, so that we can serve businesses and candidates in Co Durham, as well as Northumberland, Tyne and Wear. This is an exciting development within the charity, and great news for the north east.

To mark this expansion, and to raise money for our hardship fund, a number of our team (myself included!) are doing a sponsored walk from our Newcastle office to our new Durham office. Our hardship fund is essential for helping our candidates meet the prohibitive costs of basic yet vital items needed to start work - first month’s travel pass, mobile top-ups, work wear and ID.

The last couple of months alone have seen us pay for travel to work, a bike to commute to work, food parcels, PPE, interview clothes among other things. Without which job starts would likely have come to an abrupt end.
