Every 90 seconds, someone in the UK is admitted to hospital with a brain injury - their life changing in an instant.

I'm taking on the challenge of the Great North Run (for the second time... although I'm sure I said "never again!" 🥵) to raise vital funds for Headway Tyneside, a local charity supporting people following brain injury.

I have the privilege of working for this brilliant organisation and see first hand the positive impact Headway has on people's quality of life, everything from confidence building, social interactions and friendships, through to opportunities to do things that may not have felt possible after a devastating injury.

We run a programme of regular activities - social events, physical activities, education sessions - throughout the year as well as special events such as an annual residential weekend in Kielder. Your generosity will help us fund these activities for our members, and motivate me to keep pushing through my gruelling training plan. Thank you!
