Jo and Paola’s Story

In celebration of turning 60, Jo asked her golfing buddy, Paola, to join her in her challenge of playing 72 holes in one day. They’ve been golfing pals since they started playing at the Glen Golf Club in North Berwick four years ago. Some may say that they need the practice but the real reason for this craziness is to raise funds for local charity Leuchie House which provides much needed breaks for people with long term physical conditions such as MS, Stroke, Parkinson’s and MND.

To fully explain this challenge to all non-golfers, their challenge on Tuesday 20 June 2023 involves, four rounds of 18 holes of golf on one day, first round starting at 5.30 in the morning. They will walk at least 25 miles whilst playing golf, and sadly even longer if the ball doesn’t go straight. Huge thank you to their caddies on the day and to the Glen Golf Club who are supporting them in this challenge by providing buggies for their caddies and for fitting in their four rounds of golf at a busy time on the course

Jo has worked at Leuchie for 12 years and has seen the benefit a break gives guests and their families, as Booking Manager at Leuchie her passion for helping guests access a break at Leuchie has driven her to this challenge. All funds raised by Jo and Paola will go towards setting up a fund to help guests with the cost of a break at Leuchie – the more raised, the more they can help.
