Story
Imagine being punished simply for loving someone.
Aziz, a brave human rights defender from Afghanistan, knows this reality all too well. As a gay man, he's been forced to hide who he is. His partner was murdered by the Taliban because of their secret relationship—a devastating reminder of the danger Aziz faces every day. Living in constant fear, he must conceal his identity to survive.
This April, we're taking action for people like Aziz—tens of thousands around the world who are persecuted, silenced, tortured, or forced to flee their homes simply for standing up for human rights.
To raise awareness and funds, we’re challenging ourselves to walk 14.7 km each day, totalling 443 km by the end of the month—the same distance Afghan human rights defenders must travel from Kabul to reach relative safety in Islamabad, Pakistan.
We walk in solidarity with the prisoners of conscience, the activists, and the everyday people risking everything for justice, equality, and freedom.
Because no one should suffer for being who they are or for standing up for what’s right.
Join us. Support our journey. Help us shine a light and raise vital funds for those who defend human rights—often at the risk of their own lives.
Thank you for standing with us.
