Story

During the May bank holiday weekend I’m taking on the National 3 peak challenge, climbing 3 mountains - Ben Nevis in Scotland, Scafell Pike in England & Snowdon in Wales. This is going to be a real challenge for me, I will find it very hard but I am determined to complete it.

The challenge is self funded, which means every penny I raise will go directly to a local charity, Brandon Trust that has helped me and my family directly and I would love to give something back.

Since my son Billy’s diagnosis of Autism in 2020, Brandon Trust have been an incredible support to us finding our way in the early days of the diagnosis. The charity support children and young people with autism and learning disabilities.

The process of getting a diagnosis and support for Billy in school has been a long, hard and scary process. It has been so important and reassuring to me to know that we are not alone through this journey.

Brandon Trust, more specifically their Playlink team in South Gloucestershire have offered their services to Billy to attend local activities he wouldn’t have been able to access alone and have provided a buddy to support him learning skills independently when he is not with us, this is having a really positive effect on his life. His self esteem, confidence and his resilience have grown as a direct response to the support given by Brandon Trust.

I would love to raise enough money to provide funding to support 3 or hopefully 4 autistic children and their families through playlink for a year.

Thank you for reading I will be very grateful for any donations you can make.
