Story
Trekking for One Water - a group of us have signed up for the 3 Surrey Peaks challenge to help us raise even more money for the The One Foundation fund with the support of WDFG.
The trips that our teams have been lucky to join, have totally blown their minds and it has made all who have experienced this and those of us who can now support this through more activities, appreciate how lucky we are in our lives and put a lot of things into perspective.
One highlight of the recent trip was visiting a school in Pimbe, where funds have contributed to a Sanitation Project and built a new toilet block for the girls.
The school were so grateful and appreciative of the new toilet block proudly showing us their new facilities, this included 6 toilet cubicles, a large area for urinals (yes urinals for girls) and the 2 other cubicles for girls on their menstrual cycles, previously if they were on their period they wouldn't go to school due to lack of privacy and facilities.
While this programme has initially helped to bring improved sanitation access to the school, funds have been limited and the school still needs a lot of help. Over 1000 girls use the toilet block and the school lacks toilet paper, menstrual pads etc.
Following the visit, our team has pledged to raise £20,000 to build a second toilet block for this school but we need your help.
Please sponsor me on my trek and we will very soon reach our target!
