Story
No idea how to start this but thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Amelia, my sister, died earlier this year after battling with Stage 4 cancer for the last 18 months of her life. Needless to say it has been devastating for the whole family. However, it would have been so much worse had it not have been for the amazing charity - The Heart of Kent Hospice. Without them, the last few months of her life would have been more unbearable for her and our family. They provide amazing, caring support but rely massively on donations to run the charity and it costs around 6 million per year to provide such services to families like ours.
Now, I'm not trying to raise that much but 'Team Rambling For Amelia' will be taking part in the Kent Downs 50 Ultra Challenge on 12th October (which is a 50k walk). And so I ask each of you, please donate as much as you are happy to. You may never need their help but sadly I'm sure many of you will know of someone who has suffered with cancer and have perhaps lost their life. So think about this and know that the money you give will go to a worthy cause and help another family greatly during such dark times.
Now lastly, please add a motivational or funny comment when you donate that I can recall when doing this walk. I am going to try and smile for as long as I can during this walk as walking was one of Amelia's favourite things to do.
Thank you,
Joanna (Amelia's little sister).
