Great North Run 2024
Campaign by Muscular Dystrophy UK (RCN 205395 (England & Wales), SC039445 (Scotland))
Every year, our incredible #TeamMDUK runners take on the Great North Run in support of the 110,000 children and adults in the UK living with a muscle-wasting condition. We cannot wait to turn the Tyne orange on Sunday 8 September 2024.

Story

A few years ago my cousin, Argyri Loizou, asked if I was ever to fundraise if I would do so in support of Muscular Dystrophy UK. It's taken me a while, but finally, I'm doing it!

I'll be running or probably jogging the infamous Great North Run on Sunday 8 September 2024. It's my first and probably last half marathon.

Argyri was diagnosed with MD as a teenager and now in his 40s lives with the struggles and cannot walk unaided. Whilst I will have a few sore muscles after the race, it's a lifetime of struggle for those with this muscle wasting disease.

By fundraising for Muscular Dystrophy UK, I’m helping to fund world-class research into effective treatments, and life changing support for the 110,000 people in the UK living with a muscle-wasting condition.

All donations, no matter how small would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!
