Newport Marathon 2026 · 19 April 2026 ·

The Brain Tumour Charity is the world’s leading brain tumour charity and the largest dedicated funder of research into brain tumours globally. Committed to saving and improving lives, we’re moving further, faster to help every single person affected by a brain tumour. A cure really can’t wait

Story

For those of you who aren't aware here is the story and the reason behind my fundraising.

One of my friends, Jane Roberts, was hit with the devastating diagnosis, in March 2025, that she has brain cancer. She has since learnt that it is in operable and incurable, but fortunately they believe it to be low grade.

Jane completed Couch to 5k the week before her diagnosis and has managed to keep on running ever since. While she is currently well we all want to give back to the charity that has helped her navigate this diagnosis and supported her when her world was spun upside down.

Doing a half marathon was something that always felt out of reach for her. The only thing that got her to agree to taking part in this event is fundraising.

We are a team of runners, from Jane's local running club, who have assembled to raise as much money as possible for this fab cause. To raise extra awareness, and for a bit of fun, Jane will be running wearing a giant brain costume!

I would love it if you could, please, sponsor me a few pennies, or pounds, to motivate us all along the way.

Thank you so much.
