Story

Please sponsor me for running two marathons in a week!

Manchester Marathon - 14th April

Virtual London Marathon - 21st April

WeeFlo & Olive will be joining me on the second marathon too!

Here’s why…

Canine health is as important to me as human health. For those of you that knew or remember Lucie (our first Stafford), she was a carrier of L2-HGA. A cruel, hereditary disease specific to Staffords. Mate two Staffords that are carriers, and the litter will have it too.

Lucie wasn’t a carrier because of irresponsible breeding, it was because not much was known about the disease and there was no DNA test available at the time. Times have changed.

L2-HGA is just one of the DNA test made possible for Staffords due to the amazing team at the Canine Genetic Centre. Multiply that by all the test they have found for all the other breeds, and it’s clear that canine genetic research is a vital service for the future health of all dogs.

Their hard work is enabling responsible breeding, but they can’t do it without funding. So they have been amazing and created a Just Giving page so that I, and hopefully others that wish to fundraise, can do so easily in a way that allows Gift Aid to be added.

Right, you’ve all done it before! Even a quid will help spur me on when I’m piss wet through, tripping over tree roots and face planting, questioning my life choices on long training runs, and all too often praying for a perfectly timed toilet… 🥴

Thank you 🙏
