Hi All, on September 23rd I along with some of my pharmacy colleagues from the Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust will be walking up Snowdon. We are coming together to raise money for NorthCare the hospital charity who support many different charities.

The charity the pharmacy department at The Royal Oldham Hospital will be raising money for is the cold cap charity. A cold cap is a hat that is worn during some chemotherapy treatments. Its cooling effect reduces blood flow to the scalp, which also reduces the amount of chemotherapy medication that reaches this area, this helps to prevent hair loss. This for many ladies going through chemotherapy offers them the chance to not have to go through the ordeal of their hair falling out, which I'm sure for anyone is an awful experience.
