Story

🌟Firstly, thank you for taking the time to visit my Just Giving Page for Alder Hey Children's Charity.

I am excited to share my upcoming challenges with you! I will be participating in the Mersey Tunnel 10k as our mascot Oli.

I will then be running the Chester Marathon on October 5th, 2025. This will be a significant milestone for me as I take on the daunting 26.2 miles—an incredible challenge that fills me with both excitement and a bit of fear, as I've never covered this distance before!

But that's not all; in November 2026, I will embark on an exhilarating cycling journey from Vietnam to Cambodia, covering an impressive 391km from Ho Chi Minh City to Angkor Wat. This adventure is not just about personal achievement; it’s about making a difference in the lives of children and families who rely on Alder Hey Children's Charity.

I am so lucky to work for such a remarkable charity, I have witnessed firsthand the life-changing impact that charitable funding has on over 450,000 patients and families cared for at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital each year. Now it’s my turn to take on something big! I feel incredibly fortunate to work alongside such dedicated individuals and see the extraordinary work being done every day.

Alder Hey is special because it provides life-saving equipment that our amazing NHS clinicians use around the clock to treat over 1,200 children and young people daily. We are committed to supporting our NHS Foundation Trust in acquiring the latest technology. Last year alone, a grant of £400,000 was allocated to purchase high-end precision telemedicine robots, allowing specialist expertise to be accessed remotely for complex clinical cases.

Moreover, we believe in creating 'Moments of Magic' for children during their hospital stay. We understand how vital it is for them to play and express their creativity even when they are unwell. Thanks to your support last year, we funded over £100,000 towards Play Specialists and provided resources like art materials and toys for patients—bringing joy during challenging times.

Additionally, your donations totaling £40,000 last year helped our Innovation team develop apps that support our NHS Trust's operations. These advancements not only enhance current practices but also pave the way for future innovations that will have a lasting impact at Alder Hey.

I invite you to join me in this journey by donating towards my fundraising target of £4,000. Your generosity will directly contribute to these vital services and help us continue making a difference in children's lives at Alder Hey Children's Hospital.

Thank you so much for your support!🌟
