Story

Everyone knows that every so often I like to sign up to do sport related challenges, often to raise money for different charities and so for my next challenge I have (stupidly) decided to sign up to the London Landmarks half marathon on 6th April 2025. Yes that means I will be running 13.1 miles 😂😂😂. Now we all know that I am not a runner and will never be a runner but many of you will know that I will try my absolute best to complete the challenge and to raise as much money as I can for those who are in need. The pain that I will go through in training and during the actual event will certainly be nothing like the pain that those who are battling are feeling and suffering.

Unfortunately over the past few years we have sadly lost a number of people close to our heart due to the cruel disease but three incredible people in particular.

Hana aka Pikes who was an well loved crazy friend who I spent many Rounders matches playing alongside her all over England but the best memories were made in Canada. Hana sadly lost her battle after a great fight on numerous occasions on 24th Nov 2016 at a very young age of 31.

Nick aka Spud was like a big brother to me, he was my private bodyguard whilst at University but he always gave the best cuddles and was the best surrogate brother and Uncle. Nick sadly passed away on 7th April 2023 at a young age of 44 after being diagnosed 2 weeks prior to losing his battle that he never had the opportunity to start.

Karen my absolutely mental, crazy friend and ex colleague. There was never a dull moment when Karen was around and her smile was just so infectious! Karen battled soooo hard but sadly lost her battle on 26th January 2024 aged 64.

All of these have played a big part in my life and are missed sooooo much on a daily basis. I am hoping to raise as much money for Macmillan as possible. I know that not everyone was provided with the support from Macmillan but I just wanted to try and raise money so that I can make a difference to those who may need the help and support in the future.
