1st September 2024 - the day our world changed. My husband was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia. It came as a complete shock and little did we know what was to come. The past 22 months has been incredibly difficult for us as a family, with Adam undergoing 3 intense rounds of chemotherapy before receiving a stem cell transplant in December 2024. He was on the road to recovery and doing well and then, in July 2025, out of nowhere we heard the devastating news that he had relapsed. His WBC count was scarily high and we were told that he would once again have to be admitted for further treatment, we were told if it didn’t work he would have only 2 weeks left to live.

Fortunately Adam responded to treatment but it was mentally, physically and emotionally exhausting, it took everything from him as he was then also battling neutropenic sepsis and pneumonia, his infection marker was rising and I was terrified I would lose him. I just kept thinking ‘I cant lose him, he has come so far’ he gave it everything he had and amazingly he defied the odds once again.

More recently we found out he now has some rogue leukaemia cells in his skin which is a rare condition called ‘Leukaemia Cutis’ and has to undergo radiotherapy.

Despite all that is thrown his way he always finds a way. His strength and determination is incredible - he continues to support others whilst still receiving treatment. He is the most selfless person I have ever met and strives to do what he can to help others.

I am doing this for Adam, my husband, my best friend and my absolute inspiration - I have been with him on every step of this journey and this is no different- strong alone 💪🏼 fearless together 💫
