Beeston Memory Café is a safe, friendly place for people living with dementia in the community to enjoy time together with those who support them. The person living with dementia must be accompanied by a supporter. We offer a varied programme of activities to suit a wide range of tastes. It’s somewhere to meet, chat, and get to know new people.

Story

Dan and I will be running the Robin Hood Half Marathon on the 29th September. This will definitely be a challenge for me, if not Dan, and training is well underway.

We are raising money for an excellent cause- the Beeston Memory Café. This is a fantastic initiative run by volunteers, such as my lovely step mum Joan Gavigan, which provides much needed and vital support for both sufferers of Dementia and their carers. They receive no government funding, and therefore donations are vital to keep their weekly meetings going.

Anything you feel you can give would be hugely appreciated; this is a small charity where the money will go directly to the community it serves.

Thank you in advance and let’s hope I can make it round!
