Great Manchester Run Half Marathon 2024 · 26 May 2024 ·

Wirral Hospice St John's provides specialist palliative care for the Wirral. It costs up to £7m a year to run the Hospice, which is at no charge to our patients. This is all thanks to the loyal support and commitment of our supporters who do so much to help raise funds for our charity's work.

Story

I'm raising money to support Wirral Hospice St John's in memory of my Dad, John Potter, who I dearly miss. Supporting the hospice has been important to me ever since my Dad received his cancer diagnosis and they provided wonderful care and support to my family. It was also my Dad's wish that we support a local, smaller charity and so I continue to do this in his memory.

18 months or so ago I started going to Parkrun. I am by no means 'a runner' but I set myself a goal to work up to a half marathon and I now find myself not too far away from taking part in one as part of this year's Great Manchester Run on Sunday 26th May.

Any donations will be very gratefully received and they will certainly keep me motivated when I'm training and during the event itself.

Wirral Hospice St John's relies on donations and fundraising activities to help the charity keep caring for patients and their loved ones at a time of most need. Thank you for your kind support.
