Why I’m Running the Manchester Marathon for the 8:56 Foundation
A little over two years ago, I faced some tough challenges with my health and well-being. Determined to make a change, I set out on a journey to improve my lifestyle — and that’s when I discovered a passion for running.
My first ParkRun was nerve-wracking, but it sparked something in me. Running became more than just exercise — it became a symbol of how far I’d come, not just physically but mentally. Through ParkRun, I connected with Team 8:56, part of The 8:56 Foundation, and their mission really resonated with me.
The 8:56 Foundation is dedicated to supporting men’s mental health — a cause that’s incredibly important. They provide vital resources, raise awareness, and create safe spaces where people can connect and talk openly about mental well-being. Their work has helped so many people find hope during their darkest moments, and I’m proud to be raising money to support this fantastic charity.
On 27th April, I’ll be running the Manchester Marathon — not just to challenge myself, but to give back to a charity that’s had such a positive impact.
I’m aiming to raise £260 by finding 26 sponsors — one for each mile — but any donation, big or small, will make a huge difference.
💰 Sponsor a mile for £10 — or donate whatever you can.
🎵 If you sponsor a mile, I’d love you to pick a song for my marathon playlist — something motivational, fun, or just a guilty pleasure! Your song will power me through that mile and keep me moving forward.
Every donation will help the 8:56 Foundation continue their incredible work, providing support to those who need it most.
Thank you so much for your support — it means the world to me!
