Story
On 6th September, John and I are doing our annual "something stupid"… we're taking on the Great Pendleside Trek. It's a HUGE 35 mile walk through the gorgeous (but seriously hilly) Pendle countryside – starting from Pendleside Hospice, over Pendle Hill, and winding our way through places like Barley, Newchurch-in-Pendle, Downham, and Ogden Clough. Expect great views, sore legs, a few tears, and a lot of mud.
I’m excited… and extremely nervous. (My toenails have only just recovered from the Three Peaks, and here we are again.)
We’re doing it in memory of my Dad, who was looked after at home by the amazing Pendleside Hospice team. They brought us so much kindness, dignity, and peace during the hardest days—and I’ll never forget that.
So this is for him. And for them.
Pendleside relies on donations to keep doing what they do – helping people and families get through the hardest times with dignity and love. If you’re able to chip in, honestly, it would mean the world.
Thanks for reading, and for any support – whether that’s a donation, a share, or just cheering us on. For Dad.
