Completed London Marathon –Celebrating 150 Years Of Aberlour Children's Charity Supporting Scotland’s Children, Young People & Families.

Joanne Robertson is raising money for Aberlour – Scotland’s children’s charity
In memory of For All Young People & Families Affected With Cost Of Living & Increased Poor Mental Health

London Marathon 2025 · 27 April 2025 ·

1 in 4 children are living in poverty in Scotland. That isn’t right. Not all children are born with an equal chance. We know that by working together we will beat poverty and discrimination. With your help, we will reach more children and their families earlier, before it’s too late.

Story

I Will Be Running The London Marathon On 27.05.25 To Celebrate Aberlour's 150th Anniversary!!! Thats 150 years Aberlour Has Been Supporting Young People & Their Families, Folk Who Have Experienced Bad Mental Health, Young Children With Disabilities, & Young Parents Facing Addiction, Working In Communitites To Help People Make Positive Changes & Support Young both Children & Parents Without Any Judgement. Provide Better Option's, More Support, To Empower Them To Have Postive Experiences & Make Positive Life Long Changes!

Ill Be Stepping Way Out Side Of My Comfort Zone & Practicing What I Teach Young People! Seen As Its Aberlour’s 150th Anniversary, Id Thought Id Challenge Myself That Wee Bit More! I Normally Run Half Marathons So This Will Be A Challenge, But If We Want To Succeed, Learn, Grow We Must Work Hard On Ourselve & Push Ourselves Outside Our Comfort Zones!

It Will Be My First Ever Offical Marathon Which I'm Determined To Complete & Raise As Much As I Possibly Can To Help As Many Children & Young People In Scotland Who Are Experiencing Adversity, like - Poverty, Discrimination, & Disadvantage - Without Receiving The Right Support At The Right Time.

This Charity Means So Much To Me, Having Grown Up In East End Of Glasgow, My Family & Myself Faced Many Of These Adversity's & If We Knew About Aberlour Back Then, Things May Have Turned Out Different. As Aberlour Understands Well The Long-Term Impact Adversity Has On Children & Work Tirelessly To Improve The Lives Of Scotland’s Children and Young People.

So Its Not Only About Rasing Much Needed Funds For The Amazing Work Aberlour Do, Its About Rasing Awareness & Letting People Know About The Support That We Offer.

Your generous donations mean Aberlour’s services can continue to provide support to these children where, when and how they need it. Thank you.
