Joannie Couture's fundraiser for ME Association

Brighton Marathon 2025 · 6 April 2025 ·
I will be taking part in the 2025 Brighton marathon to celebrate a milestone birthday(40th! 🫣🤫😁). I am lucky to be reasonably fit and healthy and have decided to push myself in order to raise money and awareness for two great charities close to my heart, Cancer Research UK and the ME association.
I will be running to raise money for Cancer Research UK in memory of my friend Ingrid Rousseau, my uncle Fernand Fournier, my uncle Nelson Trachy and my Grandfather Eugène Pépin. I will also be raising money for my cancer survival friends Esther and Émilie. I know that they both had to dig deep in order to face and fight cancer and I truly admire their fighting spirit. Cancer is affecting many people in the world and I know that the money raised will not go in vain.
Everybody knows about Cancer but not many people know about ME/CFS(Myalgic encephalomyelitis /Chronic Fatigue Symptom). In truth, I didn’t know much about the condition until I met my good friend Sophie last year. She has been affected by ME since the age of 15 and it has profoundly affected her life. Despite all that, she is a very strong, determined and resilient woman and I truly respect her. I really hope that by raising money for the ME association, I can help by spreading knowledge, awareness and understanding about the condition. Please scroll down to find out more about ME/CFS.
It would mean the world to me if you are able to donate money towards those two great charities. As I am raising money for two different charities, I think you can chose which one you wish to support. However, please may I put in a request for you to support both charities equally(you may need to do two different transactions for this but I would be eternally grateful, and I’ll get you a beer next time I see you). ❤️
Thank you for your help! 🙏 ⭐️ 😊

Join us in our mission to support individuals living with ME (Myalgic Encephalopathy) and their families. This condition, also known as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, affects around 250,000 people in the UK today. The smallest exertion can leave them utterly exhausted; they endure relentless joint and muscle pain; restful sleep often remains elusive; and ‘brain fog’ clouds their ability to think clearly.
The impact of ME is profound, disrupting education, making employment nearly impossible, and straining family relationships to the brink. Many individuals find themselves unable to leave their homes, facing a daily struggle with no known cure in sight.
However, there is hope! By participating in the Brighton Marathon on April 6th, 2025, we aim to raise £500 for the ME Association. Your support can make a significant difference in the lives of those affected by this debilitating condition. Together, we can provide vital resources and advocacy for those who need it most. Please consider donating today to help us bring light into their lives.
