Story
On 27th September, I'll be running the Barnstaple Half Marathon to raise money for Retina UK.
After ACL reconstruction surgery in March 2025, I had to relearn how to walk, build my strength back up, and eventually run again. The experience gave me a new appreciation for something many of us take for granted — the ability to move freely and enjoy the activities we love.
As an optometrist, I see first-hand the impact that inherited retinal conditions can have on people's lives. While my journey has been one of recovery and improvement, many people living with inherited sight loss face challenges that cannot simply be overcome through rehabilitation. That's why I've chosen to support Retina UK, a charity that provides information and support to those affected by inherited retinal conditions while funding vital research into treatments and, one day, cures.
Every mile I run will be a reminder not to take our abilities for granted. If you're able to support me, any donation, big or small, will help Retina UK continue its important work. Thank you so much for your support.
