Story
At the start of this year, I laced up my running shoes for the first time – and I haven’t looked back since. What started as a personal challenge has grown into a real passion. I’m 2/3 of the way through the Chester Triple Series (10K, Half marathon, with the metric Marathon to go in October). I’m now taking on the ultimate test: the London Marathon – all in support of The Extra Mile Appeal at the Countess of Chester Hospital.
This special appeal helps provide enhanced care, facilities, and support for patients, families, and NHS staff – going beyond what the NHS can normally fund. Whether it’s upgrading patient spaces, supporting staff wellbeing, or funding life-changing equipment, The Extra Mile Appeal helps make the hospital experience better for everyone – at times when it matters most.
As a nurse on a busy Haematology ward, I know how vital this is. Please help me cross the finish line by donating any amount you can, it would mean so much to me. 💙
