Story
As many of you know I was in a serious road collision on the 28th October 2024. I am still feeling the ramifications of that now. What balances out the difficult days is the fact that there were people available to rush to the scene and attempt to save my life and Leo’s and Josh’s. Both boys were taken to hospital in an air ambucopter, one being in a critical condition, both needing urgent treatment. The first ambucopter arrived on scene before any other emergency services and started managing traffic and organising more support to respond in the most efficient way they could.
I have met two of the pilots that attended, a paramedic, and a doctor and they all took the time to talk to our family, answer questions and give us a tour of their base. I cannot express how knowledgeable, skilled and compassionate their team(s) are. Now I know many other services responded that day and my heartfelt thanks goes out to everyone that was there, and are always there, when the emergency call comes.
Lincolnshire & Notts Air Ambulance relies on fundraising. Lisa and I will be doing what we can to support their efforts for the rest of our lives. It’s just a shame that it took a serious incident to alert us to their value and necessity to so many people every single day. Please pledge anything you can, small or large, because accidents happen, people make mistakes, and we need these determined individuals to turn up when we are at our most vulnerable.
