This May, Jude will be taking on the Three Peaks Challenge to raise money for two charities that are incredibly close to our hearts – Evelina London Children’s Hospital, CCAA and The Ronald McDonald House Charities.
Many people who meet Jude would never realise the journey he has already been through in his short life.
Since the age of 2, Jude has lived with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis and Uveitis, requiring ongoing treatment, hospital appointments and long-term medication. In January 2024, our world changed completely when Jude became critically ill following a Strep A infection. He spent 57 days in Paediatric Intensive Care at Evelina London, requiring life support including ECMO and kidney dialysis.
After months in hospital, Jude had to relearn basic things we often take for granted – walking, eating, writing and rebuilding his strength. He missed most of Year 4 while recovering and slowly reintegrating back into school.
Despite everything, Jude has shown unbelievable determination and resilience. He is now back doing what he loves most – hiking, biking, competing in mountain biking and motorbike events, and pushing himself to achieve new goals.
The Three Peaks Challenge is something Jude has chosen to do to give something back to those that have supported him from the beginning.
We’re an ever-growing family of people who are inspired by Evelina London Children’s Hospital’s pioneering care and passionate about supporting it. Every pound you raise will help Evelina London do incredible things for sick children, young people and their families. Be part of our amazing family.
