🏃♀️Can't quite believe it's happening, but... I’m running the London Marathon 2026 for Retina UK 🏃♀️
Running has always been my escapism and far more than just physical exercise. Ever since I was a child, I’ve dreamed of running the London Marathon — and in April 2026, I’ll finally get to make that dream a reality. Over recent years, with becoming a mum to Jesse (5) and India (4), it's been tough getting the longer distance runs into the busy family days, but I am determined with this amazing opportunity, to dedicate time (and blood, swear and tears, no doubt) into fulfilling my lifelong goal. But it’s about so much more than just the miles...
I am running to raise £2,500 for Retina UK, a charity that raises funds for those who are living with inherited sight loss.
In October, Mark - the 14-year-old son of my husband’s colleague - was diagnosed with Retinitis Pigmentosa (RP), a rare genetic condition that causes progressive sight loss. Mark has already lost his night vision and part of his peripheral vision, and sadly, his sight will continue to deteriorate until he is legally blind.
There is currently no cure and no treatment for RP. Retina UK funds vital research into conditions like Mark's, as well as supporting those living with inherited sight loss today.
Mark is an amazing boy who has taken the news with such strength and positivity. But we all hope and pray that medical research will one day deliver the breakthroughs that mean his future won’t be limited even further.
By donating to my marathon challenge, you’ll be helping Retina UK fund that life-changing research — and giving hope to families like Mark's.
✨ Please sponsor me if you can, share this page, and cheer me on through every training run and every mile on the day. Together, we can help make a difference.
Thank you so much for your support 💙
