Beyond Words – where community speaks louder than words

My name is Jodie, and I am the landlady at The Angel Inn in Andover. I am hosting a 3-day charity music event called Beyond Words to raise money for the National Autistic Society, a cause that is incredibly close to my heart.

My son, Tommie-Lee, is 3 years old and turns 4 in April. He is non-verbal and autistic, and watching the challenges he faces every single day fills me with both love and determination. As his mum, I see firsthand the struggles that autistic children and their families go through, and I want to do something positive to help raise awareness, support, and understanding in our community.

That is why I am bringing people together through music. I already have over 30 acts willing to perform for free across the 3 days, all giving their time and talent to support this very special event. Their kindness and community spirit mean so much, and together we hope to raise as much money as possible.

This event is about more than fundraising. It is about shining a light on autism, building awareness for families in and around our community, and showing that no family should feel alone. It is about celebrating acceptance, understanding, and support for autistic children and the people who love and care for them every day.

My son means the world to me, and this event is for him, for families like ours, and for everyone whose lives are touched by autism.
