Tyne Bridge Zip Wire · 25 August 2023

Migraine is the most common and disabling neurological disorder in the UK, which affects 1 in 7 people. The Migraine Trust is the only research and support charity for people affected by migraine in the UK. We fund and promote research, provide support and information, and campaign for change.

Story

Jonah (11) and Mason (10) are both little adrenaline junkies and ever since I did a zip wire off the Tyne Bridge in 2019, they’ve been hounding me to let them do it…so here we are!

The zip wire will take place on 25th August and we’ve decided to try and raise some money for The Migraine Trust.

Mason has suffered from confusional migraines since the age of 5, these can be extremely debilitating and he’s missed out on doing things his friends all take for granted.

Mason’s migraines trigger extremely prolonged seizures and because he has both neurological conditions going on at the same time, he doesn’t stop fitting without medical intervention and always a hospital admission. There have been a few occasions where he has needed sedated and ventilated in ICU as the medication to stop the fits didn’t work.
