Story
On Sunday 26th April 2026 I will be running the London marathon for Settle, a superb charity that provides much needed support to young people leaving the care system as they transition into adulthood.
So far my training is just about going to plan… a back injury in week one (my fault for not stretching!) didn’t help nor does the fact that I am currently stranded in Dubai! That said, I am completely focused on reaching the finish line on the 26th April and raising as much as I can for Settle. Every donation will be very gratefully received and will make a huge difference to the lives of the young people Settle supports.
It’s scary to think that one third of care leavers become homeless in the first two years after they leave care. Settle’s programme focuses on providing intensive 1:1 coaching support and creating a dependable relationship that empowers young people to create lasting change in their own lives and avoid the devastating impacts of poverty, eviction and homelessness.
You can find further details on of the superb work Settle does on its website: wearesettle.org.
Thank you!
Jodie
