Anybody who knows me will know (mainly because I don't shut up about it) that I've got very into riding my bike over the last 8-9 months or so. During that time I've done a lot of kilometres but wanted to give myself a serious challenge - that's where the Tour de Manc comes in.

My longest bike ride to date is just over 100km and I will be taking on the "Classic Manc" event at the Tour de Manc. This will be a 165km bike ride with just over 2km of hill climbing thrown in, and sadly most of the climbing will come in the final third of the event which is a challenge I'm definitely looking forward to and definitely not dreading with every fibre of my being.

Raising money for a good cause will get me over the line if my own pride fails to do it, so I've decided to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK. Prostate cancer has affected me within my own family in the last couple of years and, famously, my absolute sporting hero, Chris Hoy, is battling this cancer too.
