Story
I’m Joe and I’m running the London marathon to raise money for the Lily Foundation - a charity dedicated to fighting mitochondrial diseases, which are rare genetic disorders with life limiting consequences. Earlier this year, my dear friend’s baby, Felix, was diagnosed with Leighs Syndrome, a very rare and complex mitochondrial condition, of which there is currently no cure.
The Lily Foundation’s mission is to one day find a cure for these debilitating conditions. The charity has provided support and guidance to my friends Joe and Jess (Felix’s parents) in what has been an incredibly challenging period for them.
By running this marathon, I want to honour the courage and resilience that Felix, Joe and Jess have shown in such a heartbreaking time.
Every donation to Lily’s will further future treatment and research and support more families like Felix’s to access the help they need.
Join me in the fight against Mito. Stand alongside me in love and strength for Felix.
Thank you
