WeSwim runs inclusive, volunteer-led swimming sessions for disabled people across London, helping improve physical and mental wellbeing, reduce isolation, and build a supportive community through the power of swimming.

Story

Hey, thanks for checking out my page!

I'm raising funds for WeSwim, a charity close to my heart and one I've volunteered with for nearly 2 years.

WeSwim gives Londoners with disabilities the opportunity to swim in a safe and supportive environment. I've seen the direct impact their work has had on getting people active, building confidence in the water, and the community they're building across each of the 5 clubs.

In 2024, WeSwim supported 462 people with disabilities to get active - 100% of whom reported improved happiness and confidence. It's incredibly rewarding to see people gain a whole new lease of life after a few swims, and making some new friends.

But running these clubs is expensive - pool hire, DBS checks, training for new volunteers etc. That's why I'm using this opportunity to raise funds for WeSwim. So they can reach more people with disabilities and support them in getting active.

About the event

Chillswim Windermere is England's longest swim - an 11 mile (17.7 kilometre) end to end event in lake Windermere. It's the longest swim I've signed up for, and I'm absolutely bricking it!
