We’re here for the cure. Cure Parkinson’s is working with urgency to find new treatments to slow, stop and reverse Parkinson’s.

Story

I am Joe. I have lived with Parkinson's for six years now, and though I am happy in life, I really wish to help seek a cure for Parkinson's - a life affecting degenerative condition that every day destroys more of the brain cells governing the body's movements (and SO much more....)

For over 200 years since James Parkinson first acknowledged "the shaking palsy", there has remained no cure, and for hundreds of thousands of people and their families, a life-affecting degenerative loss of physical, mental and emotional wellbeing will occur, with medication being only a temporary 'mask' for symptoms.

No medication can currently slow, halt, reverse, or cure the condition

It is very likely that you will have somebody in your family that has Parkinson's.

Cure Parkinson's are here for the cure. Cure Parkinson’s is working with urgency to find new treatments to slow, stop and reverse Parkinson’s.Their funding and innovation has redefined the field of Parkinson’s research, enabling the world’s leading researchers to prioritise the next generation of drugs for clinical trial.

I continue to live each day as positively and as best I can, with physical activity being seen as probably more important to helping fight the symptoms of Parkinson's as medicines (which wear off after just a couple of hours, and need increased dosages over time as their effectiveness naturally lessens).

I shall be undertaking the Cure Parkinson's 100km in October Walking Challenge by attempting to walk whilst juggling a football, and by twice weekly walking football sessions. The joy and benefits of Parkinson's walking football with friends affected by Parkinson's having helped me so much in combatting the problems and challenges of living every day with this presently incurable degenerative condition

Any small amount donated to this cause is sincerely appreciated.

With very sincerest regards, thanks, and best wishes

Joe
