2025 London Marathon for The Lord's Taverners

London Marathon 2025 · 27 April 2025 ·
In 1950 a group of like-minded cricket enthusiasts gathered in the famous Tavern at Lord’s Cricket Ground. They realised how lucky they were to be enjoying their sport and socialising with friends, and so the conversation turned to a shared desire to help those less fortunate than themselves. With that, the idea of creating the Lord’s Taverners, a club to help young people took hold.
Since it’s conception, the Lord’s Taverners has grown into an incredible charity and today embraces disability cricket, as well as engaging young people from areas of deprivation across the UK. Their various programmes provide youngsters with an opportunity to enjoy cricket with friends, whilst also developing wider skills and creating life opportunities.
Meanwhile, I spend far too much time gathered in the Tavern at Lord’s Cricket Ground, but throughout my life I have seen the positive impacts sport, especially cricket, can have on people’s lives, mine included.
With that, I thought it would be fitting to run the 2025 London Marathon on behalf of the brilliant organisation that is the Lord’s Taverners and I am honoured to be able to do so.
Any and all donations are welcome and are hugely appreciated! Your money will go a long way in improving the lives of many young people all across the UK, through the greatest sport in the world (in my opinion)!
Thank you!
