Story

This September, a team of us will be lacing up our boots and taking on the mighty Ben Nevis, all to raise funds and awareness for Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD)—a cause that’s profoundly personal to our hearts. Kitto, one of Bea’s best friends and the child of our close friends, was diagnosed with Duchenne last year. It’s a rare, progressive muscle-wasting disease that currently has no cure, and it’s a diagnosis that changes everything.

Every year, hundreds of families across the UK hear the devastating news that their child has Duchenne. The condition affects 1 in every 3,500 boys worldwide and over 2,500 people in the UK alone. Without intervention, most boys lose the ability to walk in their early teens, and many face life-threatening complications far too soon.

For us, the mission is clear: to give Kitto the happiest, fullest life possible. But the journey doesn’t stop there—we’re fighting for every child with Duchenne. We’re determined to raise awareness, champion access to new treatments, and fund the groundbreaking research that brings us closer to a cure. Most importantly, we’re climbing for hope—a hope that one day, no family will have to face this diagnosis without answers or support.

We’re proud to support Muscular Dystrophy UK, a lifeline for families like ours. But we can’t do it alone. Every donation, every share, and every word of encouragement brings us closer to better treatments, better support, and—one day—a cure.

Please join us on this journey. For Kitto. For every child with Duchenne. For hope.
