Story
In April 2026, I have the privilege of running the London Marathon to raise money for a hospital that has recently done so much for me and my family!!
In April 2025 my son Dillon was born, but sadly for Dillon he required open heart surgery for a condition called TGA. This went amazingly well, however it was also the start of complications with his lymphatic system and had to undergo further surgery in May to rectify this problem. Dillon was also born with a rare syndrome called Goldenhar, which can affect many parts of the body. This syndrome meant Dillon couldn’t breathe through his own airway, and in September Dillon underwent further surgery to have a tracheostomy. In total Dillon spent 260 days at Evelina children’s hospital and Hollie and I moved to London to care for Dillon during this period.
Although he is now doing really well and has been moved to a local hospital, Dillon’s journey has just begun. He will have many visits to Evelina in the future for further surgeries and treatment.
The care Dillon received has been second to none and the nurses, consultants and all the teams who cared for Dillon were outstanding. We all immediately felt like part of the Evelina family.
We also met many other family along the way, who have all gone through similar experiences. So raising money for the hospital to support families in the future is massively important to Hollie and I.
Thank you so much in advance for donating whatever you can, it really will make a massive difference.
