South Coast Challenge 2024 · 7 September 2024 ·

Founded in 2015 as a grassroots organisation in Calais, we’re now a Brighton based charity working locally with young refugees & campaigning nationally. Our services have been developed by listening & responding to the needs of local young refugees.

Story

Hello dear friends!!

I have worked for the Hummingbird Refugee Project from 2021-2024, and during this time, I've seen firsthand the incredible impact Hummingbird's work has on the lives of local young refugees here in Sussex.

Read more about Hummingbird here.

In an effort to support the cause, I am taking on the 25km South Coast Challenge. For those of you who know me well, you’ll be aware of just how much I loathe going on A Big Walk. The challenge will definitely test my limits, and will likely leave me in desperate need of hydrocolloid plasters.

Nevertheless, I'm looking forward to walking alongside (and in solidarity with) young people facing hardship as a result of the UK's hostile environment.

If you’d like to see me put myself in great discomfort for a great cause, please consider sponsoring my 25km walk. Your sponsorships will help provide support and hope to some really fantastic young people.

Thanks so much!

Joe
