Joe's SKY DIVE fundraiser for The Christie

Joe Wallwork is raising money for THE CHRISTIE CHARITY

Skydive May 2026 · 9 May 2026 ·

The Christie charity provides enhanced services over and above what the NHS funds. Your support can help us to fund life-changing and potentially life-saving projects that will benefit cancer patients both now and in the future.

Story

I'm terrified of heights !! But if you do 6 weeks of 5 days a week radiotherapy to get rid of throat cancer , then jumping out of a plane must be a walk in the park.

For those who don't know I was diagnosed with throat cancer in July 25, fortunately from day one those who know told me it was curable, they were right and on 9th January 26 I was told the " tumour had gone ".

You have to buy in to the treatment and do everything you are told and stay positive , cancer doesn't like positivity and happiness !!

I did my part and the staff at The Christie did theirs, I have treated myself as a reward for getting over it but need to give something back to The Christie too, therefore I've decided to do a sky dive from 11,000 feet to raise money for their charity.

I can pay extra to go to 15,000 feet and if I can raise over £500 then I'll go to that height !!!

Thanks for looking at this page, cancer can touch all of us in one way or another, it really is a lottery but with places like The Christie it can be beaten, so if you feel kind enough to donate then please do and thanks in advance.
